Dish in African Red Slip Ware, Hayes type 67. Curved wall with flange, and moulded, ascending rim. Thickened lip, marked by an internal groove. Sinuous outline, with curved walls and flat base marked by a deep groove, forming a false foot. The interior base also displays two parallel concentric lines.
Hayes form 67 corresponds to the second most represented type at Alvarelhos, where several examples have been identified. Like other widely attested imported forms, it also inspired imitations in red-slipped, non-vitreous ware, including a particularly faithful example from the Gallo-Roman necropolis of Gulpilhares, Vila Nova de Gaia (LOBATO 1995, pl. XI, no. 32).
