Quadrangular beads are relatively uncommon in Portugal. Nevertheless, a comparable example of similar morphology and colour is known from the Roman villa of S. Cucufate, Vidigueira (NOLEN 1988/90, 49-50, est. VI, no. 133). According to Havernick’s chronology, this type of bead, dated between the last quarter of the 3rd century and the end of the 4th century, may have been used as part of a composite bracelet (HAVERNICK 1981, 265-276).
