Origin

Monte Padrão, Monte Córdova, Santo Tirso.

Material

Ceramic. Compact, moderately refined fabric with homogeneous firing (N70). Abundant and well-calibrated non-plastic inclusions, composed of quartz and mica. Surface smoothed and highly polished (R70). Local or regional production.

Description

Wall sherd from a hand-modelled vessel. Decoration consisting of oval impressed motifs, apparently arranged in horizontal lines.

Classification and chronology

“Cogotas” Type I, Phase II / Monte Padrão – Phase I-II.

Maximum length: 29 mm; Maximum width: 26 mm; Maximum thickness: 6 mm.
