As bronze rings are frequently recovered without association to the objects to which they originally belonged – whether wooden, leather or otherwise –, their purpose is often difficult to determine. The present example consists of a circular-section wire with coiled terminals forming a secure connection. Comparable objects are generally interpreted as suspension elements used for attaching or hanging a variety of items.
