Description

Socketed axe with a single loop and symmetrical faces. Flat, expanded blade, ending in a curved cutting edge. It displays three ribs perpendicular to the blade on each face, extending from the beginning of the cutting edge to the butt stop. Rectangular butt with a thick, raised central projection, with lateral flanges decreasing from the base of the butt towards the top. Loop with a sub-circular section located at the centre of the lateral face, separating the blade from the butt. No casting cone. No casting seams visible; abundant traces of use on the cutting edge and butt.
