Flaked Pebble

Origin

Monte Padrão, Monte Córdova, Santo Tirso.

Material

Quartzite. Water-worn pebble of fluvial origin, of greyish-brown colour (P51).

Description

Flaked pebble with oval outline. Unifacial knapping produced by direct percussion with bidirectional removals of curved profile. Edge without a defined cutting edge, with eroded margins. Surface displaying a pronounced lustre and patina.

Classification and chronology

Pico / Epipalaeolithic | Mesolithic (?).
